Job Description:
The role of Solution Architect, Information Standards is the custodian of standards-compliant software development, and is a member of the Platform Architecture Team responsible for the definition and development of the Client ecosystem within the technical product management group.
The Solution Architect designs and develops standards-compliant, optimized code that can be used as-is by implementers. The Solution Architect works with developers, enterprise architecture, enterprise IT and product managers in integrating the code, advising and empowering the teams they work with. The Solution Architect also advises members of the wider Platform Architecture team to ensure their designs are optimized to take into account standards compliance.
The Solution Architect is expected to participate in the evolution and implementation of new technologies, processes, open standards, bringing an implementer’s perspective to the table. The role requires a wide range of experience with n-tier architecture (web, application and systems components), a track record of designing and developing high volume, high availability customer facing online platforms. Continued contribution to the open-source community is actively encouraged.
The Solution Architect works closely with the Technology Lead, product owners, enterprise architecture and reports directly to the Director, technology product management.

Responsibilities:
• Knows, and maintains knowledge of, the full ecosystem for the application managed
• Leads design, architecture and new development framework across technology stack and full stack development lifecycle
• Experience with learning management system
• Build high availability, high volume, customer facing online products and platforms
• Coordinates across the entire product and technology teams (e.g., architecture to coordinate on tactical and strategic initiatives)
• Defines and prioritizes maintenance work
• Oversee architecture and new product development lifecycle across multiple development teams
• Coordinates with stakeholders across the product lifecycle
Requirements:
• Strong experience in software and system architecture, Service oriented Architecture (SOA), and any learning management system
• Strong experience in designing, architecting and developing high availability, high volume customer facing online platforms
• Working knowledge of Spring/ Java, modern front-end Web architecture, MVC/ MVVM framework, Restful API, SQL/ NOSQL databases, content value chain, distributed architectures, Amazon web services (AWS), AI/ ML /NLP technologies
• Desired experience, knowledge and skills with authentication system, Canvas LMS, LTI tools
• Ability to manage complex projects in cross-functional groups
• Strong oral & written communications, especially on technical subjects
• Data-driven: able to absorb and use analytic information to make decisions
• Knowledge and understanding of a broad range of technology dimensions from web to software to networks/infrastructure
• Strong business analysis skills including ability to craft and prioritize user stories and expertise in managing priorities
